Four Important Steps to Get Things DONE!

TOPICS: Get Organized!, Time Management

Do you get everything done in a day that you’d like to? There’s one way to do that – schedule it differently. Why? Because if what you’re doing isn’t leaving you satisfied, it’s time for a new approach.

Here are four steps to make sure you realistically fit everything into a day.

1. List all Time Appointments from Start to Finish. Include “Leave” time to get there along with “Done” time when you arrive back at home/office.

2. Schedule 3 “Priorities” for the Day. Scheduled tasks get done like an appointment IF they are scheduled at the best time to succeed, usually early in the day.

3. Make a “Call List. Call people right before lunch or sandwiched between events to keep calls short and to the point.

4. Do an Errand on the Way Home. This will free up your weekend if you get them done during the week.

So the next time you write a “To Do” List for your day (50% better than just trying to remember what to do), bump up your success by scheduling it (80-100% accomplishment potential).

(To accomplish more each day this week read “Simplify your Daily Schedule” chapter 3 in Simplify Your Life by Marcia Ramsland.)
